Since the late 19th Century, Irish literature has achieved world renown. The works of W.B. Yeats, James Joyce, and Samuel Beckett, to name only a few, demonstrate the amazing talent of Irish writers. Even today, their works are highly influential to writers from all over the globe. 

Presenter Bio:
Originally from Derry, Northern Ireland, Terry Boyle Ph.D. taught Irish and British Literature at Loyola University, Chicago. Since retiring, Terry has continued teaching his Irish Literature course to retirees in the Learning in Retirement program out of Palm Desert. He is also a poet and a playwright. Terry’s plays have been produced in Chicago, Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.  His first collection of poetry, ‘This Will Be’, was published in 2022 by WIPF and Stock Publishers, and his second collection of poems, ‘Angels and Empty Pages’, was published by The Black Spring Press in London in 2023.
