The Renovation of the Vintage Mojave Resort, a Modernism Week Event.

The Mohave Resort, aka "Gala Villa," was built in 1957 by Layton Waterman of Arcadia on a $250,000 budget.  Renamed the Mojave Resort in 2001, the hotel has 24 units, with kitchenettes surrounding a pool. The facility was renovated using 1940s with 50s features. It functioned as a trendy getaway for established Los Angeles people.  Currently, we are celebrating the reimagined Mojave Resort's recent reopening and hearing about the renovation process.
