Event Details

Join us in welcoming Gary Powers Jr., who has been lecturing on the Cold War, the U-2 Incident, and the legacy of his father, Francis Gary Powers, for over 35 years, with presentations spanning Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, academic institutions, and international venues. As the author of Spy Pilot and several graphic novels, including Enemy Territory and The Berlin Airlift, Powers will delve into the history of the U-2 Incident, the misinformation that tarnished his father’s reputation, and the journey to posthumously honor his father with military awards. His engaging program will provide firsthand insights, including his experience consulting on Steven Spielberg’s Bridge of Spies, which depicts his father’s capture and exchange at the Glienicker Bridge.
